LSR is a middle-sized company with over ten years of experience. Especially with regard to issues that go
beyond the normal standard, LSR puts its expertise and know-how to use.

APPLICATION
EXMAR products: High-pressure ball valves with cutting-ring connector and electric actuation
Tube diameter 16S
Application: Desanding after cylinder casting in liquid aluminium

PARAMETERS
Medium: clear tap water, filtered
Pressure: max. 440 bar
Temperatures: ambient temperature, to ca. 40°C
Special: very high switching frequency – ca. 125/hr.

The components from EXMAR have been built into numerous desanding units for operations in which liquid
aluminium is cast into various cylinder heads. The negative mould for casting consists of sand (with some
unknown additives). The desanding equipment is used to completely rinse this sand off the cylinder heads.

Special features:
 The equipment runs 6 days a week, 24 hours a day
 A special requirement is that 100% of the sand residue from the negative mould must be removed
(despite the contorted shape and twisted channels in the cylinder head)
 In each unit there are five different nozzle heads for cleaning. Each nozzle head is switched and
controlled separately by a ball valve.
 The ball valves are subjected to a very high switching operation, up to 125 cycles per hour, ca.
18,000 cycles per week
